Advice to Writers: Writing Quotes from Famous Authors

Writing Novels That Sell with Adrienne deWolfe

Enjoy these inspirational writing quotes from famous authors as they give advice to writers in the video, below.

I stumbled upon these inspirational writing quotes from famous authors while I was researching ideas for a speech that I've been asked to give to a new organization of writers in my Texas hometown.  The topic that the group requested for my keynote?   "How to become a Published Author."

Every time I read quotations in which writers talk on writing, I have to grin.  Early in my journalism career, I used to think I was an eccentric personality -- until I learned that other writers go through the same weird creative processes that I do.  This weekend, I was so inspired by the wit and wisdom of all these famous authors, that I decided to create a video montage of writing quotes, in which the celebrity answers the question, "What advice would you give to aspiring authors?"

Wit & Wisdom from Writers, Part I, features quotations from Toni Morrison, William Wordsworth, Truman Capote, Mark Twain, Aldous Huxley, Jessamyn West, Madeleine L'Engle, G.K. Chesterton, Gerald Brenan, Lillian Hellman, John Scalzi, and Irwin Shaw.

I hope you glean some inspiration from all these famous authors as they talk about the writing life and share their advice on how to become a published author.
